1. AVIATION PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any aviation professional from all subsectors of the industry that has in the last 12 months engaged in outstanding activities of immense contribution to the industry. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public. <Nominate>
 

2. AVIATION AGENCY OF THE YEAR

This award will go to a government agency in the aviation sector, which has shown remarkable improvement in staff development, resources management and innovative projects for collective upliftment of the sector. The organisation would have been on the positive media for the past 12 months. <Nominate>

 

3. AIRLINE CEO OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any CEO in the airline industry in Nigeria. The CEO must demonstrate a high leadership quality; showing outstanding traits in airline management and helping airline to achieve or maintain optimum performance. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their company, or members of the public.<Nominate>

 

4. AVIATION PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR

This award goes to a company, organization, agency or airline that has developed or contributed to a practice, process, system or product that has significantly enhanced safety management in air transportation.<Nominate>

 

5. AIRPORT TAXI COMPANY OF THE YEAR

This award goes to a company, organization, or agency that renders taxi services in support of the operations of airports and passenger’s facilitation. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.<Nominate>

 

6. NIGAV LOCAL AIRLINE OF THE YEAR (NLAY)

This award is open to operating airlines with AOCs for local or interstate flights who have demonstrated consistent excellence in service, based on good passenger satisfaction. This airline must be seen to have good flight record within the year and reliable departure and arrival time with minimum records of cancellation and delays and general customer compliments based on NCAA consumer protection records for the year. The airline must also have a consistent and excellent safety record and excellent labour relations <Nominate>

 

7. NIGAV INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE OF THE YEAR (NIAY)

This award is open to operating airlines with AOCs for International flights who have demonstrated consistent excellence in service, based on good passenger satisfaction. This airline must be seen to have good flight records within the year and low general customer compliments based on NCAA consumer protection records for the year. Routes, connections, and frequency of flight to Nigeria are added advantage to wining.<Nominate>

 

8. AFRICA REGIONAL AIRLINE OF THE YEAR (ARAY)

This award is open to operating airlines with AOCs for with Africa region who have demonstrated consistent excellence in service, based on good passenger satisfaction. This airline must be seen to have good flight records within route and connection to African States and with low general customer complaints based on NCAA consumer protection records for the year. The airline must also show consistent and excellent safety record.

9. BEST AIRPORT OF THE YEAR: PASSENGER FACILITATION
     BEST AIRPORT OF THE YEAR: CLEANLINESS
     BEST AIRPORT OF THE YEAR: SECURITY

This award goes to the airports that provide exceptional facilitation services to its airlines and passengers, very clean ambiance and good security programme with generally a high security consciousness. The airport can nominate by staff, passenger or the clients for any of the subcategories. The nomination will need to pass quality passenger assurance test from the NIGAV committee voted to win by members of the public.

10. AIRPORT GROUND HANDLING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is open to any business entity involved in the provision of ground handling services. The company must have a track record of innovation and good customer’s relation with continuous maintenance and upgrading of equipment and facilities. The nomination will need to pass quality passenger assurance test from the NIGAV committee voted to win by members of the public.

11. AIR TRANSPORT INSURER OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any insurance company in the airline industry in Nigeria. The insurance company must have rendered meritorious insurance services to airline industry and must have made an outstanding contribution to the industry in the last 12 months with NCAA compliance records. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

12. AIRPORT TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SERVICE COMPANY OF THE YEAR

Nominees for the Airport Technology Support Service Company Award are companies involved in technology support services to the airport industry whose services help in quality passenger management, airline supports and facilitation and cargo operations, immigration, customer clearance and security. The winner must demonstrate introduction and integration of a technology that has delivered measurable results.

13. NIGAV REGIONAL BEST FLIGHT TRAINING CENTRE OF THE YEAR

Opens to any training institution, technical training college or organisations who have, within the last 12 months, made a significant contribution to aviation training, particularly in the areas of flight crew, cabin crew, safety, airport operations, engineering, technical or other specialist aviation training.

14. BEST AVIATION MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT CENTRE OF THE YEAR

Opens to any training centre / manpower development centre known for excellent services in the development of unique programmes for improving skill and job performance requirement of personnel in the aviation industry.

15. BEST AIR SHUTTLE SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR

This award goes to a company or organization that renders shuttle services in support of the airport and airlines operations. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

16. BEST AVIATION CUSTOMERS SERVICE UNIT

This award is open to all customer service units that interface with travelling passengers and helping the aviation industry to handle complaint and passenger feedbacks. This nomination which is not restricted to airport unit should however be airport to airport based and nominee must show summary of customer report; outline customer service strategy with detailed initiatives to ensure excellence in customer service.

17. BEST PASSENGER COMPLAINT MANAGEMENT INITIATIVES

This award is open to all customer service units with outstanding and workable passenger complaint management system that has helped the aviation industry and has made positive changes for improving the general air transport patronage. The system must be innovative and process-based with both complaint collection, feedback and assessment process showing how you measure customers’ satisfaction.

18. BEST AIRPORT HOTELS

This award goes to an outstanding airport hotel with incredible services that are travel comfort oriented. The hotel must also have good safety and security records and nominees must be willing to allow for NIGAV airport hotel inspection certification. This year’s award is open to hotels in Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Calabar.

19. AIR SPACE SAFETY AWARD (Air traffic Controller of the Year Award)
AIR SPACE SAFETY AWARD (Airspace Engineer of the Year)

These awards are sponsored industry based award which is aimed at promoting safer air space management and recognise individuals who have worked behind the scene in making sure the airspace is safe for air travels. Submission should highlight activities and actions to support this award. Nominees can be nominated by the organisation or individuals.

These awards recognise the importance of the media to air transport development in building travel confidence. The award will honour personality in various categories of the media works who have performed exceptional well in the use of media to project air transport services. Nomination is open to all including from the aviation industry journal, registered media houses and freelance reporters .

21. BEST ONLINE BOOKING PLATFORM

This award goes to a company, organization, or agency that renders online booking services. The company must have good traffic and real time presence and shows ways of attracting users to the booking platform through innovative marketing.

22. AIRPORT MANAGER OF THE YEAR

This award is open to all airport managers who can show proof of outstanding performance improvement in airport management, covering facilitation, ambiance and client services. The nominees must have in the past 12 months shown consistence improvement in airport passenger perception. The nomination will need to pass quality passenger assurance test from the NIGAV committee voted to win by members of the public.

23. AVIATION MEDICAL PERSONALITY

This award is open to any medical practitioner in the aviation industry. The medical practitioner must have made an outstanding contribution to the industry in the last 12 months. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

24. AVIATION FIRE MAN OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any airport or aircraft fire-fighter who has shown a high level of bravery in the course of fire incident management or carry out activities that have helped in reducing danger associated to aviation fire. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

25. AIRPORT OPERATION MAN OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any airport operational personnel known to show skilful dedication to the airport operation duties with understanding of the application of ICAO Annex 14 and 9 in aerodrome operations. The personnel must have worked or is part of the team for the daily airport operation and aerodrome certification process. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

26. PILOT OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any pilot in the airline industry in Nigeria with current licence and currently attached to airline both for local or international flight. The pilot must have a tremendous successful flying experience. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

27. AIR CREW OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any air crew in the airline industry in Nigeria. The crew must have a tremendous experience and must have made an outstanding passenger service relationship. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

28. MOST FUNCTIONAL AIRPORT TERMINAL OF THE YEAR

This award goes to an airport terminal whose operation is reliable and they provide exceptional services to its customers with good Flight displayer facilities, Passenger Management information system, good toilet facilities, enough space for passenger traffic, no touting etc. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

29. BEST AIRPORT LOUNGE

This award is open to any airport lounge who has met the public perception of the temporary flyer comfort with outstanding services that make the customer want to use the lounge always. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

30. BEST DUTY-FREE SHOP

This is a promotional award for duty-free shops located in Nigeria airports. The shop must have an outstanding contribution to the airline industry (company or sector) in the last 12 months. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

31. BEST AIR TRAVEL TOURISM CITY OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any airport city in Nigeria with strong tourism capacity or development in a way that it seen to support the growth of air transport services. The city must have good records of tourist visitation via air helping the aviation to boast air traffic. The winner can be nominated by themselves, or members of the public.

22. AIRPORT MANAGER OF THE YEAR

This award is open to all airport managers who can show proof of outstanding performance improvement in airport management, covering facilitation, ambiance and client services. 32. MOST ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY COMPANY

This award is open to any company that is operating an environmental friendly scheme that helps reduce carbon footprint. The judges are looking for companies and organisations that have introduced measures to reduce CO2 emissions, fuel consumption, carbon footprint, noise abatement etc.

33. AIRPORT HANGER OF THE YEAR

This award goes to a company who is currently operating a hanger or a protective storage space for aircrafts with excellent facilities that support aircraft maintenance. The winner can be nominated by themselves, their companies, or members of the public.

34. BEST AVIATION SERVICE SUPPORT COMPANY OF THE YEAR

This award is open to any business entity involved in the supply of aviation support services which includes ground handling, catering, aircraft technical management, flight operations services, etc. Here the NIGAV award is looking for aviation Support Service that is deemed significant in terms of providing exemplary support to the aviation sector.

35. PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT AWARD

This Award is for any Aviation company or institution that is dedicated to providing ongoing training and career development to their staff. NIGAV award will honour any company who sees people as the best investment and resources.

36. AVIATION R&D AWARD

Opens to any business or academic institution involved in aviation-related R&D activities in Nigeria. In the last 12 months, they must have started or contributed to a significant R&D development in relation to the aviation sector. The company must have a track record of innovation and they must demonstrate the degree of innovation in research and their commercial potential.

37. AIRPORT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is open to any licensed aerodrome in Nigeria (State, Public, Private); an airport management committed to infrastructural improvement and enhancement of the passenger experience in the last 12 months. The airport must demonstrate operational excellence, innovation and/or leadership in the management of resources.

38. AVIATION EXPORT AWARD

This award is open to any manufacturer, agro-producer and/or shipper engaged in the business of exportation using air transport mode for facilitation. Entrants must show significant engagement of the air transport system in the last 12 months with a growing local, regional and international export markets.

39. AIR CARGO AWARD

This award aims at encouraging competitiveness in air cargo logistics. Entrants should be air cargo or freight services provider that offers service to and fro Nigeria to local, regional and international market. This service provider must show ways of adapting to customer expectations by the use of technologies to be more efficient and attractive to customers.

40. AVIATION LEASING AND FINANCE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is open to any air finance and leasing organisation that supports the development of the air transport through finance. Entrants will need to provide a list of aviation leasing deals or financing to support the entries. This may include financing operations, acquisition and management, transaction negotiation, execution and deal structuring.

41. IN-FLIGHT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is open to airlines on any route that boast of outstanding in-flight services that promote comfort, entertainment and relaxation for on-board passengers.

42. MRO ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is to encourage and promote local capacity for aircraft repair and maintenance in Nigeria to help improve aircraft cycle time, quality, turnaround time and extended service life cost. The Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) must have a business operation base in Nigeria.

43. AVIATION FUEL PROVIDER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is open to any aviation fuel provider that operates in Nigeria airports. The fuel provider will show compliance to standard and good safety measures providing services. The provider can be self-nominated or nominated by client.

44. AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award recognises the individuals and/or teams engaged in the operation or maintenance of air traffic control system for safer navigation. This will aim at looking for an outstanding achievement or contribution which has added to the quality, safety or efficiency of air traffic control for safe and efficient airspace management, runways and final approach.

45. CHARTED FLIGHT AWARD

This award is open to any entities involved in charted flights and performing group services such as Pilgrim and Hajj. Customer perception is very important to the service provider and nomination to this award will be supported by the NIGAV support report and public vote.
